Welcome!

We are creating a fun and informative resource for people who are facing life with a disabled pet.

Regardless of the disability, at one point we all faced the question, "Will I be able to care for my differently-abled dog?". When my dog Louis became paralysed I wanted to hear from people who had faced the same problems and could tell me what life would be like. I struggled to find this information online and, aside from the great medical support, it felt like we were left to work out all of the practical aspects on our own.

We want to change that by sharing the experiences of all types of disabled dogs and their owners. We aim to compile these stories which will stand as a real life reference for others. Whether your pooch has lost their sight, mobility, control over bodily functions, or anything else, your story can help others.

How can you help?

Easy! Just by telling your story.

We want to know what a day in your life looks like. We also want to hear some of the tips and tricks that you have learned along the way. Your stories will be published and archived with keywords so people can find the information that they need.

If you want to join the fun and help others please fill in the interview form below. We will post your stories one by one and link through to your pooch's instagram page so people can follow up and follow your adventures.

Before you start...

  • Review these examples to see the length and level of detail we are after. This is a guide only, so feel free to make it longer or shorter.
  • Please write in your words, from your point of view, not in the voice of your pooch.

    Your story

Set the scene for us. What kind of home do you have? Where does your pooch sleep? What is your morning routine? Did this have to change to care for your disabled family member?
What time do you get home from work? Do you need to drop in at home during the day? Do you have a dog walker or other support? How do you spend your evening?
Thank you for sharing your story! We will include a couple of photos from your Instagram account with your story.
