Today we talk to Ashley from Eugene, USA about life with Lumen (aka. Unicorn) the Great Dane. Lumen was born deaf and with severely deformed feet, then dumped at four weeks old in Tijuana, Mexico. Ashley talks us through their daily routine with Lumen and their other rescue dogs, all while running the busy Luvable Dog Rescue. Could you tell us a bit about Lumen's condition?

3/26/2018 2 Comments APOLLOToday we talk to Brittany from Houston, Texas about life with her dog Apollo. When you first look at Apollo, you clearly notice that there is something different about him. When found, Apollo had the front portion of his face and entire nose removed. Due to this, Apollo's nasal cavity is completely exposed. Brittany tells us about daily life with Apollo and the advocacy work that they do for a range of causes. Could you tell us what daily life is like with Apollo?3/11/2018 2 Comments GIBBSToday we meet Hannah and her dog Gibbs. We talk about daily life caring for a dog with degenerative disc disease (aka intervertebral disc disease - IVDD). Gibbs was found paralyzed and abandoned on the side of a highway in August 2017. He had multiple cuts and scars, and his teeth had been shaved down. This all pointed to the likelihood that Gibbs had been used as a bait dog in illegal dog fighting and was abandoned when he became paralyzed. When Hannah adopted Gibbs she vowed to give him a life full of love. "I want him to know that he is loved, safe and it will always be like that." Could you tell us a bit about Gibbs and his disability? |
